Q4 Government Article Pair e-mail was sent to students on March 28th along with instructions.

Q4 Government Interview Reaction
A. Interview Phase: Students must interview six people (at least 4 of voting age).
(One interview can be self and one can be a peer, so there are really only four outside interviews.)
Interview Questions:
1) In terms of the present, describe something the government does well and something they do poorly.
2) In terms of the future, describe something you would like to see the government do and something they should not do.
3) In terms of taxes and spending, describe the government functions you most and least appreciate.
4) Does the government really affect your life?  Explain.
Take notes of the responses for each interview.
B. Use the
Reaction Guidelines to write a reaction to the interviews.  Your reaction must include at least one reference to a specific comment by each person you interviewed.
C. Submit your interview notes and reaction.

Q4 U-pick Recital (will be recited in May)
1)  Memorize and recite 50 words from a speech or document (dated before 1970) that is personally and historically important to you. 
2)  Explain why the words are historically important.
3)  Explain why the words are personally important.
4)  Create a visual that goes with your recital.

Q4 STTA: First Amendment Exercise (will be assigned and completed in May)

Write a persuasive letter expressing your opinion about an issue that you think is important to the quality of our lives.  Your letter should have a clear topic and goal for readers.  (encourage people to take a specific action for a specific reason or describe a problem and possible solution)  Extra credit is available, if you are able to get your letter published in a newspaper.
