Dropping Algebra
You can drop within the first 10 days of the 1st or 3rd quarter without any penalty. If you drop during the first 10 days of 1st quarter, nothing will show up on your high school transcript. If you drop during the first 10 days of 3rd quarter, you will receive a grade for just the first semester of Algebra on your transcript.
If you drop during the 1st or 3rd quarter (other than the first 10 days), your transcript will show withdraw passing (WP) or withdraw failing (WF) depending on the grade you have earned.
If you drop during the 2nd or 4th quarter, you will receive withdraw failing (WF) for the semester regardless of your grade. If at all possible, you want to avoid dropping during 2nd or 4th quarter.
