Notes & Homework
Homework will be given almost EVERY day. It is due at the
beginning of the next class. Some of the homework will be graded
for completion and others for correctness. Every homework assignment
is worth 4 points.
4 Points - All problems are completed in
pencil on time, all work is shown, and
corrections are made in red pen.
3 Points - All problems are completed on
time and all work is shown, but no
corrections are made.
OR
All problems are completed on time with corrections, but
there is little or
no work.
OR
The assignment is not completed in pencil or the assignment is not
graded in red pen, but everything else is done correctly.
2 Points - The assignment is late or incomplete or no corrections or
work is shown
1 Point -
The assignment is late and incomplete.
Homework Packets
Although homework will be graded daily, it will not be collected
daily. It will be turned in as a packet on the day of the test. At
the beginning of each class you are responsible for having your
homework and a red pen on your desk to grade your paper. Nothing
else!! I will walk around the room, and keep track of whether or
not your homework was completed. After you grade your paper you
will need to make corrections on your own time before turning it in
with the packet. A day or two before the homework packet is due you
will receive a homework topsheet (click
here to see an example). The topsheet lists all of the
assignments that need to be turned in. You will staple the topsheet
to your assignments in order. There is a section on the topsheet
for you to give yourself a grade on each assignment. You will use
the 4 point scale above to guide your grading. I will then grade
your assignments, and return the packet to you. There is no reason
why you can't get a perfect score on your homework. You just need
to have it completed on time and have corrections made by the day
that the packet is due.
