Learning Center FAQs

• All classes, Kindergarten through fifth grade, come to the Learning Center once a week for 40 minutes. Check with your child's teacher to find out what day their class comes to the Learning Center. 

• Kindergarten through second grades are allowed to check out one book each week.  Third through fifth grade students may check out two books each week.

• All books are checked out for one week. 

• Students may renew a book as often as necessary, but popular titles may have limited renewal. Students may not check out a book if they have an overdue book.

• If a student loses or damages a book they will be asked to pay the cost to replace the book.  Older book costs are prorated to reflect the age of the book.

• Students will be made aware of overdue books approximately once a month

• Students are instructed in the proper care for Learning Center books
    *Never eat or drink when reading books
    *Carry books to and from school in a bookbag
    *Keep books away from younger sisters and brothers
    *Don't "dogear" pages. Use a bookmark
    *Never write in books
