Q: Can anyone surfing the web see my students’ information?
A: No, the information is protected by a firewall, and each parent has a unique username and password.
   
Q: What do I do if I have forgotten my login or password?
A: E-mail parent@district87.org 
   
Q: If I have students enrolled in more than one school in District 87 will I have more than one login and password?
A: No, completion of the application form, will give you access to all of your currently enrolled students.
   
Q: My student has a login and password, but they have forgotten it, how can they get it?
A: All teachers have access to view and report on the student's login and password for the grading system.  Please have your student contact one of their teachers.
   
Q: Why do I not see a schedule or grades for my elementary student?
A: For elementary students  in grades Kindergarten through Third grade, schedules and grades are not currently maintained on the student system, except for Art, Music and PE schedules and grades.  Fourth and Fifth graders will have schedules and grades.  Schedules are for information only, they are not the order in which the student has those classes.
   
Q: How long after I apply will it take before I can access the system?
A: We are doing everything possible to return the login, password and documentation within 1 week after receiving the application.
   
Q: I use AOL as my internet provider, but the program will not open, what should I do?
A:
1. Connect to the internet using your AOL connection. 
2. Once you are connected, minimize your AOL window.
3. Open up Internet Explorer or Netscape in a different window.
4. Connect to http://parent.district87.org through the new window.
   
Q: I have an 8th grade student enrolled in a class that also receives credit at BHS (foreign language or Algebra), but I can only see that class in the grade display, what happened to the other classes?
A: The school whose grades are displayed is listed at the top of the screen.  In this case, it is set to BHS.  Change the drop down selection for the school to BJHS and all other classes will appear.
   
Q:  Can I change my password or login for this website?
A: Yes.  Use the "Account Info" button at the top of the screen.  This will open another screen that will allow you to update your password or login.  You will need to enter your current password to make the change.
   
Q: Can I change my email address that is in the system?
A: Yes.  Use the "Account Info" button at the top of the screen.  This will open another screen that will allow you to update your email address.  You will need to enter your current password to make the change.
