About the Teacher
Hello, let me tell you about myself!
This will be my 8th year teaching at Stevenson Elementary, but my 13th year teaching students with multiple disabilities. I graduated from Illinois State University with my bachelor's degree in Special Education (LBS1) in 2005, and a master's degree in Special Education in 2020. I also hold endorsements as a Learning Behavior Specialist II (LBS2) in Multiple Disabilities, and Special Education Early Childhood.
My husband and I live in Bloomington with our three kids, two dogs, and two cats. My husband's family has roots in Bloomington-Normal, but I grew up in a military family. I've lived in Hawaii, California, and Okinawa, Japan, but when I was nine, my family finally settled in Southern California. I've been in Illinois since 2002 and while I miss the beaches and temperate weather, I love witnessing the changing seasons in the Midwest! My family loves to travel and see new places. Road trips are a favorite holiday activity to explore various places in the U.S.!
The best ways to communicate with me are through Remind or email. The district will automatically enroll you in my Remind class for your child, you just need to download the free app. If you're unfamiliar or new to Remind, click here for more information on Remind.
