Ms. Pamela Kelly
Ms. Kelly is currently in her thirteenth year as Assistant Director of Bands at Bloomington High School.
After completing her student teaching at O'Fallon Township High School in December 2000, Ms. Kelly earned her Bachelors in Music Education from Western Illinois University. While at Western, she was a flutist in Symphonic Wind Ensemble, Orchestra, Concert Band, and Marching Band. Her senior year, she was a drum major of the Marching Leathernecks.
Following graduation, she served as Director of Bands for the Staunton School District in Staunton, Illinois, from 2001-2008. During that time, Ms. Kelly's ensembles earned numerous awards at events including the Liberty Bowl in Memphis, Tennessee, Disney Magic Music Days in Los Angeles, California, and the Veiled Prophet Parade in St. Louis, Missouri. Her other sponsorships included the Red Roses Dance Team and SHS Color Guard.
Ms. Kelly is currently a primary conductor of the District 87 Fifth Grade Band and Bloomington High School Concert Band. During her time in Bloomington, The Marching Raiders have been selected as Class 3A Finalists at the State of Illinois Marching Band Championships. The band has also had the privilege of performing in the New York City Veterans' Day Parade in 2011 and 2019, the Walt Disney World Thanksgiving Day Parade of Bands in 2009, 2013, and 2017, and the Outback Bowl in 2015.
Ms. Kelly lives in Bloomington with her daughter, Gwendolyn, age 17.
