Welcome to the 2019-2020 school year!

This is my 8th year teaching third grade and my first year here at Washington.  I am so excited to be a Washington Wolf and work with you and your child this year!  I absolutely love teaching and learning and can't wait to share my passion with your child.

My husband Eric and I have 2 energetic, fun boys.  Ben is a third grader and Sam is a kindergartener.  Together we like to spend time outdoors hiking, swimming, and going on adventures.

I am looking forward to an amazing year together in third grade!  Please make sure you are connected to our Class Tag page for all the latest pictures and announcements!

    Weekly Reading Logs:
Students are expected to read at home 20 minutes per day.  Five of their reading sessions need to be recorded on their reading log.  Reading logs are due to school on Friday and students will also be given a new reading log on Fridays.

    SRC Quizzes:
For the first quarter, the students SRC goal is 25 points.  Weekly progress reports will be sent home on Mondays and should be signed and returned to school on Tuesday.  You can check if a book has a quiz here: Book Expert Online

    Monday Folders:
Students will bring home a folder every Monday which will include graded papers from the previous week, our grade level newsletter, the SRC quiz update, book orders, and any non-urgent notes.

    Spelling:
Students will take a pre-test consisting of 8 words on Monday.  Students that pass the quiz with 100% accuracy will not be required to take the final test on Friday.  Throughout the week students will practice their words during word work, or focus on vocabulary if they have mastered that week's words.

    Math:
Students will take daily timed tests.  These consist of 50 questions, and students must reach 80% accuracy to pass to the next level.  The sequeunce will be addition, subtraction, multiplication, and then division.  Please practice facts at home daily for 5 minutes.  Check out my website for fun ways to practice facts under the "student" tab.
