Oakland Elementary is one of my favorite places to be! I've taught at Oakland since 1998, and I have taught first, second, fourth, and fifth grades during my career.

I have an undergraduate degree in Education from the University of Northern Iowa and a Master's Degree in Reading from Illinois State University. Reading and writing instruction are my passion, and I love playing a part in helping children grow and learn. Recently, I've received training in Restorative Practices and Google Certification. I also love being a part of our school's One School, One Book Committee to expand all students' opportunities to engage with literacy.

I am married and have two sons who attend District 87 schools. I look forward to working with you this year to provide your child the best year ever!
