Mrs. Heather Cavinder - Administrative Assistant

I became a member of the Washington school family in 2010 when my oldest son started Kindergarten.  I started out volunteering in my kids' classrooms and helping out where I could.  During a school activity, I was approached by another mom who was a lunchroom supervisor and she asked if I would like a job in the lunchroom.  Since both my boys were at school during the day, it was the perfect position.  I worked in the lunchroom for 4 years and then a full-time position in the office became available.  I knew Washington was the place I wanted to be full-time, in a place that I loved to work.  This year I am starting my 9th year at Washington Elementary.  The students, families, and staff make this school a great place to work!  Washington is not only a great school, it is a great community as well.  

I have 2 boys, Ryan (16) and Aiden (14).  Ryan attends Normal Community and Aiden attends Evans Jr High.  I have been married to my husband Tim for 23 years this year.  I also have 2 dogs, Luna and Dexter. They are both Vizslas.

I have many hobbies, but crafting and sketching people's faces are probably 2 of my favorites.  The thing I love to do most is spend time with my family and friends.
