Mrs. Jessie Kessinger

My name is Jessie Kessinger and I am the English Language Development (ELD) teacher at Washington. I have the privilege of serving students from multilingual families. I provide ELD students services in the 4 domains of the English language: listening, speaking, reading and writing. One of my favorite things to teach is figurative language, particularly idioms!

My family immigrated from the Philippines to Hong Kong where I was born and raised so I am proud to have lived within 2 different cultures! After high school, I went to the United States and graduated from Judson University and eventually got my Masters in Education from Olivet Nazarene University. My husband, Justin and I have 3 kids that keep us busy, Raelynn (8), Callum (6) and Emery (4 months). 

2022-2023 will be my 10th year of teaching and my 2nd year in District 87. When I'm not at school, I enjoy watching TV, reading, going on walks, bike rides, and spending time with my family.
