Meet the Librarian:

My name is Michelle Chon. I was born in Colorado, but moved around a lot when I was younger, having lived in Alaska, Hawaii, and South Korea. I taught 7th grade ELA at BJHS for ten years before getting my dream job as the librarian this year! I am a voracious reader of all genres. In my spare time when I am not reading, I enjoy running, listening to true crime podcasts, traveling, and spending time with my family and friends.

Mi nombre es Michelle Chon. Nací en Colorado, pero me mudé mucho cuando era más joven, habiendo vivido en Alaska, Hawaí, y Corea del Sur.  ¡Enseñe lectura y escritura en el séptimo grado en BJHS por diez años antes de conseguir el trabajo de mis sueños como bibliotecaria este año!  Me gusta leer mucho de todos géneros.  En mi tiempo libre cuando no estoy leyendo, disfruto correr, escuchar podcasts sobre crímenes reales, viajar y pasar tiempo con mi familia y amigos.

Hi there, my name is Amanda Pierce-Ghahramany. I am originally from the south coast of England and came to Bloomington in 1984 to pursue a degree in Fine Arts specializing in glass. Prior to coming to the States, I had worked in London for two years at a glass studio. My time now is divided between my studio and the LMC at BJHS. It is a balance of creativity and my love of blowing glass with my passion for books and working with students. Outside of work, my passions are traveling and exploring, being out in nature, and spending lots of time with my family both here and back home in England.

Hola, mi nombre es Amanda Pierce-Ghahramany. Soy originario de la costa sur de Inglaterra y vine a Bloomington en 1984 para obtener una licenciatura en Bellas Artes con especialización en vidrio. Antes de venir a Estados Unidos, trabajé en Londres durante dos años en un estudio de vidrio. Mi tiempo ahora se divide entre mi estudio y el LMC en BJHS. Es un equilibrio entre la creatividad y mi amor por soplar vidrio con mi pasión por los libros y trabajar con estudiantes. Fuera del trabajo, mis pasiones son viajar y explorar, estar en la naturaleza y pasar mucho tiempo con mi familia tanto aquí como en Inglaterra.
