This program will introduce students to trade and manufacturing opportunities in the BACC Region. Students will receive an overview of key employer and trade union career opportunities to better understand the needed skills and expectations of local employers and industries. Students will meet at a variety of locations, using local employer/union facilities while meeting experts to share knowledge and skill training and development.
Students will also earn OSHA 10 Certification. In addition, students will learn about various employment opportunities and how to access those opportunities after high school. Students will be involved in a "rotation" that will include cooperative instruction through local business partners. Additional opportunities may include an internship with a business/trade partner, opportunities to earn a CDL permit, drone license, and/or other OSHA certificates.
Students will apply for the program through the traditional Bloomington Area Career Center application process. Students will then be required to complete a separate application and proceed through an interview process, that will include local employers directly involved with the program.
