Directions for BJHS Parking Lot

Attention Parents and/or Guardians:
With more students returning to school in person now, we would like to remind parents/guardians about drop-off and pick-up procedures in the North front parking lot. We are very concerned about the safety of students. I’d like to give you a few reminders about the pickup and drop off procedures:

  • Please observe the signs as you pull into the parking lot.
  • Please watch your speed at ALL times. Please drive no faster than 10 MPH for the safety of our students.
  • Stay to the right if possible. You may park on this side all the way up to the dotted yellow lines that are painted for the busses to park.
  • Please do not wait for the spot in front of the door to open up to drop off your students. Pull to the curb where it is open and let your students out of your vehicle. Waiting to drop off your student at the front door prolongs traffic congestion and keeps the busses stuck on Colton Street.       
  • Before you leave the curb please signal and look.
  • If there is no room at the curb, please pull into one of the parking space lanes as far as you can go and drop off your student. The student then can look and see the traffic before crossing. This also allows the traffic in the right lane to see your student and let them cross.
  • Do not drop off students from the left lane. It is a through lane and must remain open for busses. If you drop off your student from the left lane you increase the risk of an accident involving your student. Several complaints have come to BJHS administrators from parents unable to see the students until they pop out of the vehicle.

We are trying to do everything we can to prevent a tragedy in our parking lot. A little patience and courtesy goes a long way to keep our kids safe. Thanks for your assistance!

Atención padres y/o tutores:

Estamos muy preocupados por la seguridad de nuestros estudiantes que son dejados y llevados en el estacionamiento norteño en frente de la escuela.  Me gustaría darles algunos recordatorios sobre los procedimientos de llevar y dejar los estudiantes:

  • Por favor, sigan las señales mientras entras al estacionamiento.
  • Por favor cuide su velocidad a TODOS los tiempos. Por favor no maneje más rápido que 10 MPH para la seguridad de todos nuestros estudiantes.
  • Quédese a la derecha cuando sea posible. Se puede estacionar en este lado hasta las líneas pintadas para los autobuses estacionar
  • Por favor no esperen el espacio en frente de la puerta para despedir a los estudiantes. Vaya al bordillo cuando esté dispuesto y deje sus estudiantes del vehículo.  Esperando para dejar los estudiantes a la entrada principal prolonga la congestión de tráfico y causa que los autobuses están esperando en la calle Colton.
  • Antes de salir del bordillo, por favor use la señal y mire.
  • Si no hay espacio en el bordillo, por favor, espere en uno de los carriles más lejos para dejar a su estudiante. Después el estudiante puede mirar y ver el tráfico antes de cruzar.  También permite que el tráfico en el carril derecho pueda ver su estudiante y dejarlo cruzar. 
  • No deje a los estudiantes del carril izquierdo. Es un carril a través y tiene que estar abierto para los autobuses.  Si deja a su estudiante del carril izquierdo, aumenta el riesgo de un accidente incluyendo a su estudiante.  Hay varias quejas de padres que no pueden ver a los estudiantes hasta que brincan del vehículo.   

Estamos tratando de hacer todo lo posible para prevenir una tragedia en nuestro estacionamiento.  La paciencia y la cortesía ayudan mucho en proteger a nuestros estudiantes.  ¡Gracias por su apoyo!
