Ohana
The concept of ohana is the foundation of our classroom. In the movie Lilo & Stitch, the Hawaiian word ohana is defined as family, and family is described as no one being left behind or forgotten. It is my goal that our class will become a family during this school year. I will work with the students to create an environment where everyone feels a sense of belonging--one where no one is left out or left behind. I believe children learn better and behave more appropriately when they feel comfortable, loved, and supported.
