About Mrs. Kalitzky

This is my 18th year teaching!  I am a kindergarten/first grade looping teacher.  I taught my first year at Irving Elementary in District 87 as a reading specialist.  I then transferred to Oakland to teach kindergarten/first grade.

I grew up in Bloomington, Illinois and went to Unit 5 schools for grade school, junior high, and high school. I attended Illinois State University for my undergrad in Elementary Education. I received my Master's Degree in Reading at Illinois State University in May 2010. I also received my ELL certification in May 2012 from Illinois State University.

My husband, AJ works at State Farm.  We have four beautiful children.  Aubrey is 14 years old, Jonah is 12 years old, Emerson is 10.5 years old and Kate is 9 years old.  Aubrey is in 9th grade at NCHS, Jonah is in 7th grade at Evans, Emerson is in 5th grade, and Kate is in 4th grade at Benjamin Elementary School.  We  have a cat named Scout,  a chocolate lab named Remy, and a yellow lab named Penny.  My children are the joys of my life and keep me very busy with all of their activities. In my free time I love spending time with my family, reading, taking walks, and traveling to all my kids' sporting activities.
