Traditional Board Game Club
Do you like strategy, competition, and traditional board games like Risk, Monopoly , and chess? Come join Mr. Cruz for the Board Game Club! Our first meeting is Wednesday, November 5th, in Room 109 from 2:50–3:50 PM. All are welcome—just show up and play!
Attention 8th Grade Students
The BHS Color Guard will hold auditions for their winter program starting November 10, and all 8th graders are invited to attend. Pick up a flyer in the band room for more information. The color guard will also have a demonstration during round table on November 6; talk to Mr. Zummo to sign up to attend.
Girl's Volleyball
Girls’ Volleyball will host two open gyms in November. The dates include Wednesday, November 12th, and Thursday, November 20th. Open gyms will run from 3:00 to 4:30 in the West Gym. All participants must have a current physical on file and be registered for volleyball on 8-to18. Links to register are on the BJHS Athletics website. Girls’ Volleyball tryouts will be held for 6th-grade girls on Monday, December 1st, from 3:00 to 4:30. Tryouts for 7th & 8th Graders will be held on December 2nd & 3rd. Cross Country Banquet
The BJHS XC Banquet will be held in the BJHS Cafeteria on Wednesday, November 12th from 6 to 7:30 pm. We are excited to celebrate by recognizing you and a fantastic season. Cake will be served. Please feel free to bring a dessert to share as well.

Celebrate the Season on October 31
Once again this year, students will be allowed to dress up on Friday, October 31 as their favorite school-appropriate story or media character.
Onesie style outfits will be allowed this day to represent a character
Dress code for body coverage must be followed
Appropriate shoes must be worn
Students must be identifiable
No masks allowed
No props
No blood, gore, or horror
No electronics or lights
No inflatables
Students may not wear clothing that will interfere with their ability to participate in class (including sitting in chairs, participating in PE, sitting in the cafeteria, etc...). Anything that is distracting or causes disruption will need to be changed. I'm looking forward to seeing some creative and fun costumes!

BJHS Cross Country State Results
Congratulations once again to Vanesa Silva and Wyatt Danenberger for qualifying for the State XC meet. Both runners ran fantastic races over the weekend competing against over 200 athletes in their respective races. Vanesa placed 18th overall with a new PR and received a medal at the awards ceremony. Wyatt came close to his previous PR running an excellent race against tough competition. We look forward to both of these athletes dedication, leadership, and work ethic next season. Thank you to all BJHS XC athletes on an excellent season and supporting your teammates at the State meet. Go BJHS XC Knights!!

Unified eSports will meet this Thursday, October 16th at 2:45 in room 229. The eSports coach at Northern Illinois University will be a special guest, and he may be bringing swag! See Ms. Wieland with questions.
2027 Washington D.C. Trip
There will be an informational meeting about the 2027 Washington D.C. Trip happening on Wednesday, November 5th at 6 PM in the BJHS Cafeteria. This trip is open to all current 6th and 7th graders and will give you a chance to visit the nation's capitol in the summer of 2027. You will get to fly on an airplane, stay in a hotel, and see all of the famous monuments and museums. Please see Mr. Neuman in room 127 or email him with any questions!

New Game Day Policies
ALL BJHS students MUST be accompanied by a Parent or Guardian to attend a game at BJHS. Students MUST go home after school and return with a parent or guardian or they will NOT be permitted to attend.
Also we have a new Clear Bag Policy in effect. This means you may not bring your backpack or purse to an event. When you go home make sure you leave your backpack or purse at home.

BJHS Fall Play - Auditions Today!
The end of the world is coming—and only you can survive the zombie apocalypse! This year’s fall play will be “10 Ways to Survive the Zombie Apocalypse.” Students interested in performing should plan to attend an informational meeting and audition on Monday, September 29th, from 2:45 to 4:45 in the chorus room. You don’t need to prepare anything, and no previous acting experience is required. If you can’t make it that day, a make-up audition can be scheduled. Please see Ms. Harrison or Mr. Thomason with any questions. Roundtable teachers can provide you with their email addresses.

This VOLUNTARY fundraiser helps provide classrooms and teachers with technology, student rewards, classroom equipment, and much, much more. If you choose to participate and sell Fannie May, you will be able to win cash prizes.
$50 if you sell 40 or more boxes
$75 if you sell 60 or more boxes
$100 if you sell 80 or more boxes
Also, if you sell 30 or more boxes, your name will be included for a chauffeured limo ride to a pizza lunch.
For more information, be sure to check out the pink flier in the sales packet that will be distributed to roundtable teachers today after announcements.Order forms will be due on Thursday, October 2nd.

Are you creative? Do you like doing crafts? You might enjoy Crochet Club. We will meet on Mondays in IT1 (Mr. Woodward's room). If you were a member last year or if you already crochet, feel free to bring your own hooks and yarn. If you are new, you do not need to bring anything. We will make sure you get supplies when you come. Everybody is welcome to try it out and see if you enjoy it. Our first meeting will be Monday, September 8th.

Bus Passes
Bloomington Jr. High students will be required to show their bus pass to ride the bus beginning tomorrow, September 5, 2025. Passes will be handed out in class today. Students need to keep the pass in a safe place. Having to get a replacement pass at the end of the day can potentially cause the student to miss the bus ride home.
