Junior Health Science Academy Program
A hearty congratulations to the 25 students in the Junior Health Science Academy Program. There will be an end of program celebration for them at Heartland Community College tonight . This program is run by the Black Nurses of Central Illinois at the Heartland Nursing Simulation Lab for Junior High students that are interested in a career in health care. This six week program taught the students things like: how to start an IV, how to do CPR, surgery preparation, checking blood pressure, and glucose monitoring. There will be another session in the spring of 2026. If you are interested, check with your science teacher, Nurse Monique, or Nurse Carter for more information. The application process will begin in January.

Attention 8th Grade Students
The BHS Color Guard will hold auditions for their winter program starting November 10, and all 8th graders are invited to attend. Pick up a flyer in the band room for more information. Celebrate the Season on October 31
Once again this year, students will be allowed to dress up on Friday, October 31 as their favorite school-appropriate story or media character.
Onesie style outfits will be allowed this day to represent a character
Dress code for body coverage must be followed
Appropriate shoes must be worn
Students must be identifiable
No masks allowed
No props
No blood, gore, or horror
No electronics or lights
No inflatables
Students may not wear clothing that will interfere with their ability to participate in class (including sitting in chairs, participating in PE, sitting in the cafeteria, etc...). Anything that is distracting or causes disruption will need to be changed. I'm looking forward to seeing some creative and fun costumes!

BJHS Cross Country State Results
Congratulations once again to Vanesa Silva and Wyatt Danenberger for qualifying for the State XC meet. Both runners ran fantastic races over the weekend competing against over 200 athletes in their respective races. Vanesa placed 18th overall with a new PR and received a medal at the awards ceremony. Wyatt came close to his previous PR running an excellent race against tough competition. We look forward to both of these athletes dedication, leadership, and work ethic next season. Thank you to all BJHS XC athletes on an excellent season and supporting your teammates at the State meet. Go BJHS XC Knights!!

2027 Washington D.C. Trip
There will be an informational meeting about the 2027 Washington D.C. Trip happening on Wednesday, November 5th at 6 PM in the BJHS Cafeteria. This trip is open to all current 6th and 7th graders and will give you a chance to visit the nation's capitol in the summer of 2027. You will get to fly on an airplane, stay in a hotel, and see all of the famous monuments and museums. Please see Mr. Neuman in room 127 or email him with any questions!

New Game Day Policies
ALL BJHS students MUST be accompanied by a Parent or Guardian to attend a game at BJHS. Students MUST go home after school and return with a parent or guardian or they will NOT be permitted to attend.
Also we have a new Clear Bag Policy in effect. This means you may not bring your backpack or purse to an event. When you go home make sure you leave your backpack or purse at home.
