Excited to Announce Our First Ever "Divine 9 Day"
We are excited to celebrate our very first Divine 9 Day in D87. "D9 in D87!" tying this event in with Black History Month.
An Insightful Journey
On this special occasion, we'll showcase the members of our staff who belong to historically renowned fraternities and sororities of the National Pan-Hellenic Council, often referred to as the "Divine Nine". This is a wonderful opportunity for our students to learn more about the significant contributions these organizations have made to society and our local community right here in Bloomington/Normal, as well as their ongoing work in promoting leadership, academic excellence, and public service. Tying in with Black History Month, we aim to enlighten our students about the historical impact of the Divine 9 organizations and inspire them by exemplifying the principles of academic achievement, leadership, community service, and lifelong friendship that these fraternities and sororities stand for.
Who are the Divine 9?
The Divine 9 consists of nine historically Black Greek Letter Organizations (BGLOs), which include:
Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc.
Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc.
Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Inc.
Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Inc.
Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc.
Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity Inc.
Zeta Phi Beta Sorority Inc.
Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority Inc.
Iota Phi Theta Fraternity Inc.

Has your student met the health requirements to start school in August? D87 is hosting the Carle Mobile Clinic at BJHS on Friday, August 4th from 9am to 4pm. If your student still needs an updated physical or immunizations call 309.827.6031 to make an appointment or request additional information. Please bring an insurance or medical card as they will be needed at the time of the appointment.
