Retired McLean County Judge Don Bernardi visited BHS to speak with eight sophomore English classes about his experiences during his career as a judge.
Students had the opportunity to hear his stories, ask plenty of great questions, and learn more about the judicial system from someone who experienced it firsthand.

Mrs. Benjamin's American History class at BHS brought the concept of monopolies to life by playing Monopoly!
Students put their math skills, negotiation tactics, and patience to the test, and learned a valuable lesson about the importance of reading directions and how understanding the rules is key to success!
🎲After the game, students connected their experiences back to industrialists and monopolies in American history, helping bring the lesson full circle- plus, they had fun playing the game together! 🎉

🎉 Please join us in giving a warm welcome to Hannah Boston, who will be joining the Raiders at BHS as an assistant principal!
Hannah brings 10 years of experience teaching science at Heyworth High School to her new role. While she thoroughly enjoyed a decade in the classroom, she felt inspired to make a broader impact by transitioning into administration, and stepping into this role at District 87 was the perfect next step. She’s excited to support teachers and help our students succeed!
This year, Hannah is looking forward to tackling new challenges, forming strong relationships, and getting to know our amazing staff and students at BHS!
A little about Hannah: She loves spending her free time with her husband, Jameson, and their rescue Shih Tzu, Porter. As a family, they enjoy taking walks and seeking out new adventures together.

Last Friday, 15 BHS Raider Reps volunteered to kick off their summer by attending a special training at the ROE (Regional Office of Education)! 💪
🌟 The focus? Stand for Courage, a new anti-bullying initiative designed to recognize and celebrate upstanders who help make BHS a safe and welcoming place for everyone. What’s even cooler? The Raider Reps themselves will be leading the rollout of this program next year! 🙌
They spent the day planning, strategizing, and brainstorming ways to create a positive culture at BHS, and capped it off by sharing their plans and ideas with Principal Moore.

🔹 Doors open for families at 1:30 PM (students must arrive by 1:00 PM).
🔹 Student lineup begins around 2:30 PM.
🔹 The graduation ceremony starts promptly at 3 PM.
🔹 Student entrance: Doors near the Pepsi Ice Center.
🔹 Family & guest entrance: Main entrances.

🚗 Downtown parking garages: Free on Sundays (except for the Pepsi Ice Center).
