Coach Mables brings an incredible wealth of experience both on and off the court:
👉 Principal at Cedar Ridge Elementary School in Unit 5
👉 Former collegiate athlete at the University of Texas El Paso, where she helped lead the team to a Conference USA Championship and an NCAA March Madness appearance in 2008
👉 Transferred to Union University, leading the team to back-to-back NAIA National titles in 2009 & 2010.
👉 Her leadership extended off the court, with administrative roles in Rantoul and Champaign Unit 4 school districts, all while making time to coach!
From the classroom to the court, Coach Mables is a true leader, and we can’t wait to see what she’ll bring to BHS- let’s go, Lady Raiders!

📚🔐 Escape Room Fun at BHS!
Ms. Siemientkowski and Mrs. Brady transformed the library into a thrilling escape room for Banned Books Week! After a lesson on why books are challenged and banned, students worked in teams to complete an escape room, using clues and navigating books in the library that are frequently banned and challenged across the US to get a prize! 🏆🕵️♀️
A big round of applause to the Raiders, who used teamwork to beat this challenge! 🌟

The ceremony brought together Ed Rozboril, Barry Nixon's wife (in Barry’s memory), former players, current BHS girls & boys tennis teams, Evergreen Racket Club members, and community leaders—including a representative from the City of Bloomington, who partnered with D87 to make these courts a reality (thank you!).
This new complex will honor this dynamic duo and their incredible contributions to the BHS tennis program for years to come. 🏆💜💛

Make-Up Day for pictures will be TOMORROW Thursday, September 24th from 8-10am in room 137 (Lunch Detention Room). Make-Up Day is for students who missed picture day and need to get their photo taken. If you are a student who still needs to take their photo, please speak to your assistant principal so you can get a pass. Seniors & other Students who would like to "retake" their photo need to speak with their assistant principal in order to get approval and a pass.

We’re rolling back the years at the BHS Homecoming Game by selling vintage yearbooks dating from 1911 to 2024! Each book costs $20, and your purchase supports the Yearbook Club’s new camera equipment and assists students who need help purchasing a yearbook.
🌟 Preorder your piece of Raider history! Email baezk@district87.org by Thursday, Sept 25th, to reserve a specific yearbook for pickup at the game or browse available copies at the Homecoming game on Friday, Sept 26th!
