Marcellus comes to D87 with experience from the High Road School of Bloomington, where he discovered his love for helping students grow. Inspired by a personal connection to autism, Marcellus is driven to make a difference in the community and support students who need it most.
Marcellus is excited to connect with students at BHS, learn about their diverse backgrounds, and help them overcome any challenges that they may face. His goal is to build relationships and help all his students grow as individuals.
Outside of work, Marcellus enjoys expressing himself through writing poetry 🎤✍️, hitting the gym 💪, and playing chess ♟️. He’s also a diehard Boston Celtics 🏀 and Chicago White Sox ⚾ fan!

Matt is excited to rejoin the D87 family—this time, as a staff member! A proud Bloomington native, Matt attended D87 schools throughout his childhood, graduating from BHS in 2011!
He has an impressive background in professional hockey operations from working with various local teams, and recently joined the BJHS wrestling program as a coach. In addition to coaching, Matt has also worked with local youth football teams, continuing his passion for helping young people grow.
This year, Matt is looking forward to bringing energy and positivity to his new role while helping transform students’ lives. 9 Raiders from the Future Teachers Club took a trip to Heartland to explore opportunities open to them in their journey to a career in education. They learned about dual credit programs offered to BHS students, including the ECE certification program and Associate in Arts/Associate in Science programs.
With interests ranging from elementary to middle to secondary education, today’s group represents the future of teaching, and we hope to see them back in D87 as educators one day! 🌟
