What a week it's been at BHS for Raiders 101! 🏛️🚌 Washington D.C. or bust! This year's annual trip for some of our BJHS graduates was a memorable one, starting their adventure at 4:30 AM, they traveled in a chartered bus, exploring the heart of our nation's capital last Monday to Thursday! It may have been hot out but that didn't stop the group from visiting the White House from the outside, making stops at the Martin Luther King Jr., FDR, Lincoln, and 9/11 Pentagon memorials. They also visited the Washington Monument, the Albert Einstein statue, and the space shuttle Discovery at the Air and Space Museum. The annual Back to School Alliance backpack and school supply giveaway is scheduled for 10 am - 6 pm on Thursday, August 8 as a drive-through event at State Farm Corporate South! This event is for eligible Unit 5 and District 87 students entering grades PK-8 who qualify for free/reduced lunch AND have completed all registration requirements for school. Schools will distribute invitations to eligible families later this summer, and invitations are required to participate.
