From chrysalis to butterflies, our Tigers proudly paraded through the school in their costumes, singing joyful butterfly songs 🐾🦋, and wrapped it up with a special performance and parade for their loved ones. ✅ Defeated Clinton Junior High 360-280
✅ Won an overtime battle against Tri-Valley Middle School 330-320
✅ Took the championship with a victory over Maroa-Forsyth Middle School 420-230

The 5th-grade artists at Oakland will have their incredible artwork proudly displayed on planters around downtown Bloomington this summer as part of the 150th Anniversary of Route 66! 🌟
The Owls explored the history of Route 66 and created their own stunning designs on "hubcaps" featuring scenes inspired by the iconic roadway under the guidance of Mrs. Geggus. 🛞✨

Yesterday’s BHS baseball game kicked off with a special ceremony celebrating the legacy of Coach Rich Krueger. 🎉
Coach Krueger joined D87 in 1963 as a PE teacher at BJHS, later coaching basketball and football. In 1978, he became head baseball coach at BHS, leading the Raiders for 24 years, earning 381 victories and 3 IHSA regional titles. 🏆
Surrounded by former players—he jokingly called his "knuckleheads", Coach Krueger was honored with a framed #23 jersey and threw the first pitch.

Greg teaches social studies at BJHS and has been selected for the competitive 2026 Teacher Fellowship at George Washington's Mount Vernon historic home! 🇺🇸✨
From July 5–25, Greg will take part in an immersive, nationally recognized program where he’ll dive deep into the history of George Washington and Indigenous Nations—collaborating with educators from across the country and creating powerful new learning experiences to bring back to his students.
