Kudos to Gregory Franklin, an 8th grader at BJHS, who was honored by Down's Police Chief Joshua Dingler! While out with his friends, Gregory noticed Chief Dingler accidentally drop his two phones while rushing to his squad car. Without a second thought, Gregory and his friends sprung into action to return Chief Dingler's dropped phones, showcasing integrity and swift action. 🏃♂️📱
Touched by their honesty and quick action, the Down's police department honored Gregory, highlighting the admirable path he chose to take.

🎶The BJHS 6th grade choir had a special session with Dr. Andrew Bruhn, the composer of "I'll Sing 'Peace on Earth,'" from Illinois State University. Dr. Bruhn worked with the choir to get the piece ready for performance and talked about his process and the inspiration behind the song. 🎼👨🏫

🩺🚁The Junior Health Science Academy for select students at BJHS is up and running thanks to the support of the Black Nurses Association (BNA) of Central Illinois! This program is designed to inspire the next generation of healthcare heroes- 🦸♀️🦸♂️ from exploring varied fields within healthcare to becoming CPR-certified.
In a special career exploration day, students had the opportunity to get up close with an OSF LifeFlight helicopter 🚁 and explore EMS and paramedic trucks 🚑 from Bloomington and El Paso—all aimed at sparking curiosity and passion for lifesaving careers.
A huge thank you to everyone involved in making this happen and helping pave the way for future healthcare professionals.
