Chelsea is joining Oakland as a 3rd-grade teacher! After spending the last year with her daughter and two years working in a local library, District 87 felt like the perfect place for Chelsea to get back into teaching.

After spending the last eight years in administration, Mike decided to return to the classroom—a place he missed—and is excited to be closer to home and teaching in the district where he lives and where his daughter attends school.
This year, Mike can’t wait to meet his students and help them build the skills they need to prepare for high school.

She’s passionate about helping others and shaping the best possible future generation.
Jessica chose D87 after hearing glowing reviews from friends who student-taught here and loved the supportive environment. This year, she’s most excited to set up her first classroom and get to know her students and fellow staff members.
When she’s not teaching, Jessica loves spending time with animals (especially her two dogs, a black lab mix and a pomeranian chihuahua), watching reality TV and crime shows, trying new food spots, and exercising.

Jessica chose D87 after hearing glowing reviews from friends who student-taught here and loved the supportive environment. This year, she’s most excited to set up her first classroom and get to know her students and fellow staff members.
When she’s not teaching, Jessica loves spending time with animals (especially her two dogs, a black lab mix and a pomeranian chihuahua), watching reality TV and crime shows, trying new food spots, and exercising.
