🎉We are thrilled to welcome D87 New Teachers who had an action-packed few days during their onboarding training. From curriculum to supports and our fabulous D87 culture, they were immersed in everything our district has to offer! 💜 Our new teachers enjoyed a fun-filled schedule of activities that included a scavenger hunt, training sessions, a luncheon, and a fun bus tour to showcase Bloomington and all our buildings. We are proud to say that our new teachers are ready to hit the ground running, and we know they will bring great enthusiasm and passion to the classroom this year. 🎉🎒 BHS hosted Freshmen Connection last night! 🏫 The evening gave incoming freshmen and their parents an insight into life at BHS. 🤝 Students had the opportunity to ask questions about being a Raider to a peer group while Principal Moore spoke to parents and had a Q & A about high school life. 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Our newest Purple Raiders had the chance to see all the various clubs, activities, and sports offered, and speak to student peers about becoming involved. 💜 A great start to the year for our BHS freshmen! 🌟

They had the privilege to host "The Feast" - an exclusive conference where D87 staff members attended different sessions to learn some amazing technology tips and tricks that they can incorporate into their classrooms. Irving Art teacher Karen Brinker just got back from an awesome week-long intensive training by Art21 in the Big Apple! 🍎🗽 Karen and 16 other educators from around the world met in New York to start laying the foundation for building a new curriculum. 👨‍🍳🧀🍦🍨👏 Top Chef hits BJHS! The Knights made cottage cheese ice cream (that’s right, ice cream from cottage cheese!) and had a taste test comparing store-bought ice cream and their own creations. Students and staff had a great time sampling the goods- such a delicious way to finish the “Livin’ Your Best Life” summer program at BJHS! 🤤👌 👨‍🍳🧀🍦🍨👏 ¡Top Chef llega a BJHS! Los Caballeros hicieron helado de requesón (¡Así es, helado de requesón!) y tuvieron una prueba de sabor comparando el helado comprado en la tienda y sus propias creaciones. Los estudiantes y el personal se divirtieron mucho probando los productos, ¡Una manera tan deliciosa de terminar el programa de verano "Livin 'Your Best Life" en BJHS! 🤤👌
