❄️🌨️ Wow, it's cold outside, but in Ms. Gaffney's reading group at Sheridan, things are heating up with science! 🔬📚 As part of their unit on animal adaptations, the students did an experiment to discover how blubber keeps penguins warm in harsh conditions. 🐧💡

BJHS 6th graders in 6H took gratitude to the next level by writing thank-you letters to the brave firefighters of Battalion 8 in New York — one of the first battalions to respond to the 9/11 tragedy. ❤️🇺🇸

Their kindness didn’t go unnoticed! The students were honored to receive a letter of appreciation back, along with a Battalion 8 patch and stickers! So cool!! 🧑‍🚒✨

🦃🎨 Thanksgiving Fun with a Twist! 🎨🦃

In the spirit of Thanksgiving, Mrs. Mariani's 8th-grade art students took creativity to the next level with a special Friendsgiving project! The challenge? Using clay to design their favorite foods... but with a twist! 🍴✨ From Worm Pie to Octopus Fries, Monster Donuts to Gross Sushi, and even Meatball Cereal, the results were as weird as they were awesome! 😆👩‍🎨

The students went around guessing each other's creations- sure, it was a little weird — but they LOVED it! 🥳

🌊🎶 Washington's 3rd Grade Concert 🎶🌊

The 3rd-grade Wolves gave an incredible performance at their "Down by the Sea" concert, directed by music teacher, Ms. Hays! 🐠🎤 The stage was transformed into a colorful coral reef, featuring artwork created by students in Ms. Carqueville’s art class. Families even got to join in and sing along! 👏🎨

A secretly declared Spirit Day (6-7) among staff brought an unexpected twist centered around the "magical" numbers 6️⃣ and 7️⃣.

It's all in good fun - you either find yourself loving the 6-7 combo or just not quite sure what to make of it! Either way, it was a hilarious day at BJHS- one they won't forget soon. 🎊💜

🎄✨ Spreading Holiday Cheer at Westminster Village! 🌟 The BJHS Student Council took part in their beloved annual tradition of bringing the festive spirit to the residents of Westminster Village. Our incredible students got hands-on with assembling, fluffing, lighting, and decorating 10 Christmas trees throughout the facility. 🎅🎁

But it wasn't just about the decorations! Student council members spent time communicating, listening, and interacting with the residents, making meaningful connections and sharing stories.

The highlight? Serenading the halls of Westminster Village with holiday carols, bringing smiles and festive cheer to all. 🎄🎵

A big thank you to Westminster Village for again welcoming the BJHS student council to help bring some holiday cheer- this is what the holiday spirit is all about!
